You don’t always need sunny days and perfect skies to have an incredible and memorable wedding day. Danielle and Kent definitely managed to find the sunshine on a rainy wedding day and didn’t let the weather stop them from having the day they always dreamed of. With 6 separate downpours, and 3 venue changes their wedding has by far been the rainiest day we have ever photographed. But how often does a father get to walk his daughter down the aisle twice in one day.
The morning of the wedding was quiet and peaceful. Danielle and Kent surrounded themselves with their closest family and friends. After they got ready we met at the Calgary Zoo where their ceremony would be held outside the butterfly room in the beautiful gardens. Minutes after guests took their seats and the ceremony was about the start, the skies opened up and let out an insane downpour. Guests quickly hurried inside, but the rain let up and the sun came out, so staff and groomsmen quickly dried off the chairs and got everything ready for the ceremony. Everyone took their places, and Danielle started to walk down the isle. Kent’s face when he saw her for the first time was absolutely beaming. Then the rain started, a huge crack of thunder hit and everyone ran to take cover from the rain, and this time it was far heavier and came much faster than the last. It was decided to finish up the ceremony in the reception hall where everyone could stay dry. The rest of the evening was magical the beautiful indoor gardens, incredible speeches and lots of dancing.
Danielle and Kent are such a laid back and fun couple. You would never have known that they had so much rain and so many venue changes, they just kept smiling and had such a gorgeous day together.
We feel so blessed to have been part of your wedding and we with you the happiest marriage imaginable (because Rain on your wedding day is good luck, so you guys are definitely one VERY lucky couple!)
